Mesotherapy
Cosmetic mesotherapy is a treatment capable of improving the majority of cosmetic issues by providing small quantities of active ingredients directly to the area where they are needed. In conventional mesotherapy treatments these ingredients are administered via microinjections into the dermic layer of the skin where they act as slow release medication. The method will improve your skin’s hydration and volume, as well as facial expression. Your face will be more relaxed, the wrinkles of facial expression will be reduced and the tone and texture of the skin will become more youthful. This method prevents degradation of your skin with age and beautifies your face.
The vitamins stimulate the skin cells, especially fibroblasts, which cause increased production of collagen and elastin fibres, as well as neutralising free radicals. The biological metabolism of the skin becomes like that of young skin. Mesotherapy is able to improve circulation as well.
Mesotherapy is a non-surgical method. The revitalising substances are delivered into the skin as multiple, very superficial injections of tiny drops, aided by a special Mesotherapy very fine needle.
What are the revitalising substances?
The revitalising substances are a complex of vitamins, amino acids, minerals and a variety of fillers obtained by a biotechnological process. Is it painful?
No. Some patients experience a light tingling sensation near the injection site. It disappears within a matter of seconds. For very sensitive patients we can apply numbing anaesthetic cream 30 minutes before the treatment and/or ice packs.
What should I avoid before the treatment?
You should avoid Aspirin, Vitamin E, Primrose Oil, Nurofen, Ginkho Biloba, Chinese and herbal medicine one week before the treatment. This is just to protect you against the remote risk of bruising. Your skin should be without infection or inflammation, such as eczema or acne.
What should I avoid after the treatment?
There are no specific restrictions on any activities after the treatment. You can go right back to what you were doing as soon as you step out of the SkinGlow Clinic. However, you should avoid excessive physical activity for a few hours.
How many sessions are necessary?
About 10 sessions are necessary to improve the skin on your face or neck. Ideally, they should be carried out every two weeks for the first 2-3 months and then one a month for the next 3 months. Once the results are visible, we can space the treatment every 2-3-6 months. This will depend on the extent of your skin’s condition and problems. Each session takes about 20-30 minutes.
How many sessions before I see improvement?
After the third to fifth session, you will see that your skin looks noticeably healthier, the subcutaneous tissue is firmer with better tone and texture, and the lines will improve dramatically or disappear.
How long will the benefits last?
If you choose to continue with follow up session every two to six months, the improvement will be more stable and longer lasting. On average, it will be five to six months before you see the toll of time starting to creep back in. It is best to nip it in the bud at this stage. If you are vigilant, three to five sessions will get you back to smooth, firm skin again. Does Mesotherapy have any risks? Usually no, as the revitalising substances are natural components of skin. They are non-toxic and biodegradable by integration with the skin. Approximately 3% of patients can get mild redness, which will last for a few hours. 1% of patients can get bruising lasting up to three days. Allergic reactions are very rare.
