blog 5 step routine

When thinking of your skin care routine, it is important to keep in mind that cosmetics don’t necessarily need to be expensive to be effective. Or, even more, get trapped into believing more is better. Avoid buying a long list of products, hoping they’ll help you leave behind all your skin problems. When it comes to skin, you should be ultra-selective with the products you choose in your routine. Daily, our skin is subject to environmental attacks or better called pollution. Pollution is a sum of emissions, pesticides and plasticizer, both from outside or inside our home. They all attack our skin daily. So, adding more products that will stress it further will not help your skin.

You can prevent ageing and treat various skin care concerns by building a simple five-step routine.

The ideal routine includes: cleansing, a vitamin C serum, an active serum, a moisturizer and a SPF sunscreen cream.

Not only you’ll keep your skin healthy but you can do it on a tight budget as well.

Besides simplifying your approach, we recommend few tips when creating a new routine:

Cleanser.

Always cleanse your skin before layering skin care products and before night time. Choose a cleanser that treats your skin with love, gentle and nourishing. A gentle creamy cleanser should remove oil, dirt, makeup effectively. If suitable for your skin it will prevent clogged pores and dark and white spots.

Do not be too harsh by using electric brushes and other devices and wash only twice a day and after going to the gym.

Antioxidant.

serum

Choose a high-quality Vitamin C serum. Vitamin C is paramount in any skincare routine. It will protect your skin from environmental pollution, free radicals and brighten a dull complexion. Last but not least it will help improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles. So, hope now you have enough reasons to reconsider the importance of Vitamin C.

There are few gold standards any Vitamin C product should meet. It should use pure Vitamin C, should have a high concentration between 10-20% and a formulation to an acidic PH (<3.5).

An active serum.

It’s usually recommended by your skin care specialist or dermatologist and has to be suitable for your skin condition. For example, it can contain salicylic acid in case you have acne or acne prone skin. Or if you’re struggling with rosacea or pigmentation, a serum with azelaic acid.

Moisturiser.

Choose a moisturizer that has niacinamide (Vitamin B 3) and apply it to damp skin even if you have oily skin. It will keep your skin hydrated and also tackle fine lines, hyperpigmentation, acne and uneven skin tone.

SPF

Always apply sunscreen during the day. We recommend a tinted one which has a SPF of 30 or higher. Very important, remember to apply it every 2 hours even in a powder form if more convenient!
